Get the Free eBook! Want to master cold calling? Download my free eBook! Many would have you believe that cold calling is dead, but the successful have no fear of the phone; they use it to outproduce their competitors. Download Now The quality of your results in sales—or in anything else—is the quality of your hiring. If you hire well, you produce great results; if you don’t hire well, you don’t produce great results. Your results and your hiring are directly correlated.Hiring well means making one of two choices.Hire the Very BestOne way to ensure that you produce the results you need is to hire the very best salespeople you can find.I’ve read books like E-Myth Mastery, and I know that there is an argument to be made that you should build a system in which you can hire relatively low paid, low skilled employees and still produce the results that you need. This might be a terrific strategy for making sure your french fries get taken out of the oil when the buzzer sounds, but it’s a horrible strategy for hiring sales people. The difference in success and failure now is in having the ability to think, to be resourceful, to develop relationships, and to find new ways to help your clients move their businesses forward. There is no sales tool, sales process, or sales methodology that allows you to hire poorly and still succeed. Period.Hiring the very best salespeople you can hire makes it easier and more likely that you achieve the results you’re after. They already have the beliefs, the skills, the experience, and the love of the game. They can hit the ground running and put up numbers.Hiring poorly makes it impossibly difficult to produce great results—and it makes it more likely you’ll spend all of your time dealing with the issues that come with hiring poorly. But you might be able to get away from hiring only salespeople with the skills and experience.Hire the Soon-To-Be Very BestIf you have the processes, systems, and wherewithal to teach, train, coach, and develop salespeople, then you don’t have to hire the very best. You can hire salespeople with the potential to be the very best. It’s still not easy to identify the salespeople with the potential to be the very best, because you are hiring for their beliefs, their behaviors, and their willingness. Their willingness is especially important. If a salesperson has the willingness to try new things, to take new actions, they can very quickly improve. If they have a willingness to learn then you can teach them what they need to know and help them gain the situational knowledge. But all the teaching, training, coaching, and developing in the world is all for naught if the salesperson is unwilling to be coached, to take new actions, or to learn. If you want to produce the sales results you need, invest your time and resources in hiring the best salespeople—or future best salespeople—that you can. Hiring less makes it lees likely that you succeed and reach your goals.QuestionsWhat is the affect of poor hiring on your sales results? How do you hire salespeople that can and will succeed in producing those results? Can you make your number with employees that lack the skills and knowledge? If you can’t easily hire the very best, can you build a program to develop salespeople into the very best?
Gujjars occupying the rail track and highways in Rajasthan with the demand for 5% reservation in government jobs and educational institutions called off their agitation on Saturday after the State government gave a written assurance that it would take legal steps to safeguard the quota provided to them in a Bill passed by the Assembly on February 13.Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla, who was sitting with hundreds of his supporters on the Delhi-Mumbai section near the Malarna station in Sawai Madhopur district, asked the agitators to lift the blockades that had thrown traffic out of gear and caused inconvenience to the public. To break the deadlock, Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh carried a draft agreement on behalf of the government to the Gujjars, promising to protect the new reservation provisions with “adequate legal safeguards.” Mr. Singh said the government would pursue the matter with the Centre.Col. Bainsla (retired) expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the public since February 8, when the blockades were put up. He called upon the Union government to get the new Act, recognising Gujjars as an “extremely backward class,” included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution to protect it from being challenged in courts. The three pieces of legislation enacted in the State since 2008, giving 5% reservation to Gujjars and four other nomadic communities as a Special Backward Class, were struck down by the Rajasthan High Court. The court ruled that the quota exceeded the 50% limit mandated by the Supreme Court and was not supported by the quantifiable data.Col. Bainsla, who led the stir as convener of the Gujjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, said the decision to call off the protest was taken “in the interest of the nation.” “We have got 5% reservation. If an issue arises at a later stage, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has promised us that he would intervene,” he said. While the 82-year-old retired Lieutenant Colonel of Indian Army along with his supporters occupied the Delhi-Mumbai railway tracks, the Gujjar agitators later blocked the Sawai Madhopur-Jaipur rail track at Chauth Ka Barwara as well as several major roads across the State, including the Jaipur-Agra national highway. The blockades led to cancellation, diversion and short termination of about 200 trains and suspension of bus services during the last nine days.Col. Bainsla said the agreement signed by him carried the government’s assurance on effective implementation of the Deonarain scheme for the welfare of Gujjars, filling of vacancies and consideration of withdrawal of criminal cases filed during the earlier agitations. In addition to Gujjars, the four other nomadic communities which have got the 5% quota are Banjara, Gadia-Lohar, Raika and Gadariya. They were earlier getting 1% quota in the “most backward” category, in addition to the Other Backward Class (OBC) quota, within the 50% ceiling. The Rajasthan Backward Classes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutes in the State and of Appointments and Posts in Services under the State) Amendment Bill, 2019, unanimously passed by the Assembly on February 13, amended an Act of 2017 and made a provision for 5% reservation to Gujjars and others, terming them “extremely backward classes.” Following this, the quota in the State now stands at 54%.

Sri Lanka are showing some character and fight to get back into the game courtesy two outstanding knocks from Kusal Mendis and Dimuth Karunaratne. Dickwella oversmarts himself! Shami strikes with his first ball today. Niroshan kneels down and looks to scoop the length ball, gets a faint inside edge and it deflects onto the stumps. After the deadly Blue Whale Challenge that has allegedly sparked a spate of suicides across the country, many more twisted online games that goad vulnerable teens into killing themselves could face a ban in India. The Supreme Court on Friday sought the view of the Centre on a public interest litigation filed by lawyer Sneha Kalita who drew its attention to several other such perverse pastimes like Choking Game, Salt and Ice Challenge, Fire Challenge, Cutting Challenge, Eyeball Challenge and Human Embroidery. Kalita argued that these games too have the potential to cause fatalities or serious damage to the life and psyche of youth and said it was the “responsibility of all the stakeholders to curb this menace and prevent its further spreading like cyber virus amongst the teenagers just like the Blue Whale Challenge”. Experts say the expansion of internet connectivity and social media has created new opportunities for entering into suicide pacts, with “curators” cajoling teens into risky behaviour.A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra tagged the petition along with another one pending in the SC, seeking a court-monitored complete ban on the Blue Whale challenge which has allegedly claimed several lives in the country. Seeking the Centre’s view, the court asked if the government had any plan to set up an expert committee to deal with such games which have created a crisis situation within the children and youth community. The apex court has sought the assistance of attorney general KK Venugopal in the matter. Indicating it is likely to issue some significant orders, the bench also stopped the Delhi High Court from hearing any similar petitions. A plea seeking complete ban on the Blue Whale game is pending before the HC.advertisement”Like the Blue Whale challenge there are several other games around and if we don’t prevent or make any filtering, these kind of games too would assume dangerous proportions,” senior advocate Vijay Hansaria, who was representing Kalita, told the bench, seeking direction for framing guidelines to regulate and monitor virtual sports.”All stakeholders, be it parents, teachers, professors, police and other authorities, must collectively tackle this menace by advocating awareness. Parents should be more vigilant about the online activities of their children and speak to them immediately if they feel suspicious about their child’s behavior,” the petition said. With rising number of children allegedly succumbing to Blue Whale, the top court had on September 16 asked the Centre why the suicides were continuing despite a ban. The CJI sought to know what has been the effect of the August 6, 2017 direction by the government to social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to remove the link of the controversial game in which dangerous tasks like self-inflicting of wounds are assigned to the player by administrators during a 50-day period. The bench also wanted to know what has happened after the intervention of the Delhi and Madras high courts. The Ministry of electronics and IT (MeitY) had also instructed these websites to report anyone advocating or promoting this game to law enforcement agencies. The government is concerned about the availability of such games on the internet. An administrator of the game uses social media to invite or incite children to play this game, which may eventually lead the child to take extreme steps, including suicide, the MeitY notification had said. The game has so far purportedly led to over a 100 deaths in the US, China and other countries.
