Government warns of attempts to destabilise reconciliation

She said that the Tamils voted for the current Government with faith and the Government must deliver on its promises. The Government today warned of attempts to destabilise the reconciliation process in the country.State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran, speaking at the 70th anniversary celebrations of the United National Party (UNP) in Colombo today, said that some extremist elements are agitated with the progress achieved by the unity Government. The State Minister also said that while the Government has taken steps to address some key issues, including the issue of missing persons, the Tamils are disappointed with the slow progress in addressing those issues.
