Would it be better if Wellington is known for the freaky cat people? I would rather Wellington would be known for this law than Animal Hoarders filming in town. Man, our nefarious leaders here have gone haywire over rules and fines. Live well, live wellington! Sure sometimes they had to be blasted more than once but overall its cheaper than having the vet put them to sleep at the taxpayers expense. Report Reply 0 replies · active 397 weeks ago +6 Vote up Vote down anonymous · 397 weeks ago So for the people with more than one cat, how do you decide which one you get rid of? And how are you supposed to get rid of the extra cats in the house? If you don’t know somebody to take in the extra cats, do they get taken from your house or do you get fined? Doesn’t this mean more cats that will be put down? Isn’t that what they are trying to get rid of, putting down a lot of cats? We are supposed to take happy healthy cats out of loving homes and dispose of them because we have more than 4 cats in the home. This won’t solve any problems. In fact it would be cause for more people to move away from Wellington. To a lot of people thier pets are like family, you might as well limit how many kids people can have too! Report Reply 2 replies · active 397 weeks ago +2 Vote up Vote down Really only 4 · 397 weeks ago Do the people also realize the same goes for dogs? No more than 4. Rather than worry about how may pets people have I think more of a concern is the large mass of drugs in our city. Look @ the deaths that have happened because of overdoses! They have no right to tell people what they can have in their homes! I hope someone contest this! Report Reply 0 replies · active 397 weeks ago 12Next » Post a new comment Enter text right here! In this morning’s broadcast on “Good Morning America,” a segment ran about new oddball laws being passed across the United States. In this segment, ABC News felt Wellington’s new cat law was worthy mentioning in the “bizarre” list including other laws like $1,000 fine for popping a wheelie on your motorcycle while speeding among others and flashing motorists warning people of speed traps ahead. The ABC News website story is here: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/12/new-year-welcomes-oddball-state-laws/Details of how our nationally recognized law came to pass can be found here: http://www.sumnernewscow.com/wellington-city-adopts-new-animal-ordinance-including-no-more-than-4-cats-per-owner/last_img
